In general, NorESM can be built from the unmodified source code. The base code (infrastructure, atmospheric, land, sea ice and coupling models are baseed on the NCAR CESM1 model.

License: Free.
NorESM is "free" software however a short registration must be filled out for access to the CESM1 base code and contact with the Norwegian EarthClim consortium is required.
