This is a super-category, for fields within which something is active, present or used.

Examples:

Storage is a field
There are resources, software, and system administrators specialised in this field.
Plotting utility is a field
Many different softwares can be collected under this term, e.g. gnuplot, matplotlib, matlab...
Bioinformatics is a field
It has application experts and specialised software. Note that it is also a Category:Research area.
